Dear Dan Lee,
This year, my daughter Ariane started nursing school at Louisiana State University.
The fees, books and supplies are almost as expensive as the tuition. She received
TOPS and a Pell Grant, but there were so many expenses that were not covered. The
Pinnacle Scholarship Fund allowed my daughter to relax her first year of college
and focus on her studies. I want to tell every Pinnacle Entertainment employee
with a child in college or children going to college – do not pass this up. I
know quite a few people who wish their employers offered something as great as
the Pinnacle Scholarship Fund.

I was chosen to receive the Pinnacle Scholarship Fund for the second year, and I am writing this letter to express my sincerest thanks for providing this scholarship. It is an honor to be recognized for my hard work, and receiving this scholarship motivates me to continue to strive for excellence. I am in my second year of college, and your support has enabled me to concentrate more on my schoolwork without having to worry about finances. This scholarship will help me live my dream of becoming a child psychologist.
Your generosity has made a profound impact on my life and my mother’s life as well, who is a single parent. My mother has been with your company since July 2005, and she drives an hour and 15 minutes to work. Additionally, she is raising me and my two brothers alone. You will never know how big of a blessing this is for her because she has always inspired us to do our best and get our education. Dear Pinnacle Entertainment,
My mother, Deborah Jacobson, has been an employee of Belterra Casino Resort & Spa for eight years, and I am a summer employee. I take pride in receiving the Pinnacle Scholarship Fund four years in a row. I have been able to put the scholarship money toward books, tuition and school supplies. Without the scholarship, it would have been difficult to obtain the funds necessary for college. I received my Associate’s Degree in General Business in May 2007, and I will graduate in May of 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Indiana University Southeast. I am very thankful of Pinnacle Entertainment’s generosity and hope the Pinnacle Scholarship Fund will allow others to excel as well.
